Safety Measures for the Use of Mobile and Handheld Power Tools

Safety measures for using portable and hand-held power tools:
1) Before energizing portable power tools and handheld electric tools, they shall be connected to protective earth or protective neutral.
2) Portable power tools and handheld electric tools shall be equipped with individual power switches and protective devices. It is strictly prohibited to connect two or more electrical devices to a single switch.
3) The power switch of portable electric tools shall be equipped with a residual current device (RCD), with a tripping current not exceeding 15 mA and a tripping time of less than 0.1 s. The switch shall be installed in an easily accessible location, and the distance between tools shall not exceed 5 meters.
4) When portable power tools and handheld power tools are connected via a socket, their plugs and sockets shall be free from damage or cracks and shall have good insulation.
5) When, for any reason, mobile power tools are taken off-site to suspend work or in the event of a sudden power outage, the power switch should be turned off.
6) Mobile electric tools and handheld electric tools shall be equipped with highly sensitive residual current devices (RCDs).
7) The power cords of portable electric tools and handheld electric tools must be made of copper‑core stranded rubber‑sheathed flexible cables or PVC‑sheathed flexible cables. Cables shall be kept away from heat sources and must not be dragged on the ground. When the above requirements cannot be met, measures shall be taken to prevent heavy objects from crushing the cables.
8) When moving power tools and handheld electric tools, do not carry the power cord or rotating parts.
9) After using portable power tools and handheld power tools, the power supply on the power side must be disconnected.
10) When replacing the drill bit of an electric tool, it must be done only after the tool has come to a complete stop.
11) When using handheld power tools, please wear insulated gloves or stand on an insulating platform.
