According to the “China Electric Tools Industry Production, Sales, and Demand Forecasting and Transformation & Upgrading Analysis Report,” electric tools are primarily categorized into metal-cutting power tools, grinding power tools, assembly power tools, and railway power tools. Common electric tools include electric drills, electric grinders, electric wrenches and screwdrivers, electric hammers and impact drills, concrete vibrators, and electric planers.
Electric drill
The main specifications include 4, 6, 8, 10, 13, 16, 19, 23, 25, 32, 38, and 49 mm, among others. The numerical designation indicates the maximum drill bit diameter that can be used when drilling steel with a tensile strength of 390 N/mm². For nonferrous metals, plastics, and other materials, the maximum drilling diameter may exceed the nominal size by 30–50%, and polishing machines are available.
Electric wrench and electric screwdriver
Used for tightening and loosening threaded fasteners. The drive mechanism of the electric wrench consists of a planetary gear set and a ball-screw‑type impact mechanism. Available in sizes M8, M12, M16, M20, M24, M30, and others. Electric screwdrivers employ either a toothed clutch‑type drive or a gear‑driven mechanism, with sizes including M1, M2, M3, M4, M6, and more.
Hammer and rotary hammer
It is used for drilling, grooving, and roughening concrete, brick walls, and building components. When combined with expansion anchors, it enhances the speed and quality of installing various pipelines and machine tools. The impact mechanism of a rotary hammer relies on the movement of an internal piston to generate impact force, whereas that of an impact drill is based on the meshing of gears to produce impact.
Concrete vibrator
It is used to compact concrete during the placement of concrete foundations and reinforced concrete members, thereby eliminating air voids and enhancing strength. In particular, the high-frequency vibratory force of an electric direct‑drive vibrator is generated by the rotation of an eccentric mass driven by an electric motor, which is powered by a medium‑frequency supply operating at 150 Hz or 200 Hz.
Electric planer
It is used to plane wood or wooden structural components, and when mounted on a bench, it can also serve as a small benchtop planer. In an electric planer, the cutter shaft is driven by the motor shaft via a belt.
Grinder
Commonly known as a grinder; electric grinder; an electric-powered tool used for grinding with a grinding wheel or abrasive disc.
